Inside the FORME project

Venture capital · Investor portal

The business

FORME is a venture capital firm that invests in young companies. Its investors need to see where their money is and what needs their attention.

What you’ll see

Follow the thinking behind the investor portal, from the questions it needs to answer to the screens, charts, payment notices and documents we built.

Try it yourself

Change the quarter, search account activity and open sample documents in the working demo below. All figures are sample data.

Investments, easier to follow.

What have I put in? What is it worth? What needs my attention? We designed FORME’s investor portal around these questions, bringing account values, activity and documents into one place.

An independent ESID concept for a fictional venture capital firm. All account data is illustrative.

01 / The brief

Make the account easy to understand.

Give investors a clear picture of their money and their next step.

An investor agrees to put a total amount into a fund, then contributes portions when the fund requests them. We set a brief to show how much has been contributed, what the investment is worth and whether another payment is due.

A statement, a payment notice and a transaction history each answer a different question. The design brings those answers together, with the supporting detail one step away.

01

Where do I stand?

Separate the reported value from money contributed and money returned.

02

What has changed?

Show the account by quarter, with a clear history of contributions and payments.

03

What do I need to do?

Give the next payment request a clear amount, deadline and full notice.

02 / The investor experience

The essentials first. The detail one step away.

The overview gives every figure a reporting date. Investors can change the quarter, inspect the chart and see how much of their agreed investment remains to be contributed.

Activity and documents have their own sections. A payment request, also called a capital call, opens into a notice explaining the amount and deadline in plain language.

03 / What the work delivers

A working route from question to answer.

The prototype lets investors move from an account summary to the transaction or document they need. The fund team has a consistent way to present each quarterly update and payment request.

Understand

Compare three quarters.

The figures and chart update together, keeping the reporting date visible.

Find

Reach the right document.

Search activity, filter documents and download sample statements and notices as PDFs.

Act

Review the next request.

Open a notice, check the deadline and mark it as reviewed. The same actions work on mobile.

How we would measure success

Can an investor find the answer?

We would ask investors to find their latest reported value, check a payment deadline and download a statement. The useful measures are whether they complete each task, how long it takes and where they need help.

This is an interactive concept with sample data. It does not connect to a live account or process payments. Time saved and fewer support inquiries have not been measured.

04 / Supporting identity

A calm setting for important information.

Evergreen, pale sage and open space give the figures room to breathe. A simple FORME wordmark keeps the brand present without competing with the information investors came to find.

The same type, colours and clear labels carry through the portal and its downloadable documents.
